Crocheted Fish Hat

I love the look of those awesome fish hats that everyone is knitting up.  I found this pattern on Ravelry and was all excited because there was a crocheted version! :)  I'm not a big fan of sc (single crochet) so I took the basic idea of it and made it all up in hdc (half double crochet).  I LOVE it! :)  I plan on making a ton more of these.  Pics of it on a head coming soon! :)

A Warning About Bendyroos!

My sons got a box of Bendyroos for Christmas.  We sat down at the table and were playing with them and were having a blast.  They really are some cool things.  I was so happy to find a mess free way to play with the boys!!  Unfortunately, Adrian ended up breaking out in a wicked raw/rash all over his face.  The only thing he had been near is the Bendyroos.  On the box it says "Kid Safe!  Wax covered super strong string!"  Hmm... what could be glutenous in that?  So I started researching the product and found some info about how the company that sells and markets these really has no idea of what ingredients go into making them.  If there is gluten or not.  And, seeing as my son had such a bad reaction to them, I decided we'd just stay away from them all together.  I don't allow playdough in my house because of his Celiac's and I won't allow these in my house either.  Even though the box does NOT have a "made in" label, they ARE made in China.... and the marketer does NOT know what is in them.  Others that aren't dealing with gluten issues may want to stay away from them as well.

A few other Christmas Presents

Every year I get my nephews Christmas ornaments.  I like to do something that has interested them or a theme of their year.  This year it is Civil War for my 10 year old nephew and Mickey Mouse for my 4 year old nephew.  Both are made out of sculpey and baked.  Painted with acrylics.  They were a hit! :) YAY!

Showing off my hubby's skills!

Nick spent a long time making our boys and our nephews these hockey tables.  They are 3'x4'!!  He also made these wooden play rifles for our boys! :)  Everything is much loved by them all.  Adrian has been sleeping with his gun at night! LOL

Newborn booties & hat

A friend of mine asked me to make a bootie and hat set up for a newborn for her.  She wanted the same "tie dyed" yarn that I had used for the pointy hat.  I had JUST enough to complete these. :)  Oddly enough, this is the first time I've ever done anything for a newborn.  Also a first for booties for me!

3 Girly Hats

I made these pretty little girl hats for my sister's boyfriend's daughter for Christmas.  Unfortunately, she didn't like them at all. :(

Pointy Hat

After all the Christmas crafting I was doing, I just needed something to whip up and destress.  This very colorful pointy hat is what I came up with.  Now that I've seen Timmy in it, though, I think I need to put some ear flaps on it.  I'll show pics of it fully complete later!

Slouchy Hat

A friend of mine ordered a few hats.  I didn't take pics of all of them.  I'm not sure why, though! :(

Here is the variegated acrylic basketweave slouch hat I made for her!

Here is a reggae type hat I made for her!

A new Tink

I traded a Tinkerbell doll for some super soft Merino.  Can you think of a better trade? Here she is.  I like her face much better than the last one I did.  Sorry for the crappy cell pics.
And here is what I've started crocheting with the beautiful Merino!! :)

Elmo Earflap Hat

My cousin's little boy is turning 2 in a week. He is currently obsessed with Elmo. So I made him this earflap hat so he can be super cool by sporting Elmo and be super warm in our cold NY winters. The eyes look wonky in the pic, but they aren't, I promise! It was just the way that I had it sitting on the mannequin I think.

Abby Cadabby!

I've had a couple friends request Abby Cadabby hats, so here they are!

Tinkerbell ... one ornery girl

So I made this Tinkerbell doll for a girl in Timmy's class for her birthday party. Unfortunately, I didn't finish it until 3am the morning of the party. That means I wasn't really willing to go back and fix any goofs. Check out the pissed off looking eyes. I should have used embroidery floss, but at that time of morning I didn't care. The girl loved it, so that is all that matters! :)

Yoda Hat

Timmy wants to be Yoda for Halloween, so I crocheted this Yoda hat up tonight for him to wear. Now I have to get around to sewing up some lounge pants and a robe for him to wear.

A Pretty Little Hat

Timmy is going to a little girl's birthday party this weekend and I was going to make her a pretty hat and scarf set. I found this cute pattern but it is for an adult, so I thought I'd make it a wee bit smaller. Um... no. It ended up only being big enough for a 12-24 month old. LOL, oh well! I'm sure I'll find someone to give it to. Now I have to make a whole new hat. *sigh*

Slippers for Adrian!

I wanted to try to make my first pair of slippers, but had a problem trying to find the perfect pattern. I like this one I chose. It works up super fast and fits Adrian great. I just used some scrap yarn that was given to me on my first pair. Adrian loves them and the other two boys are begging for some now! YAY! :)

It's Time To Eat!!

My cousin's little girls are getting a kitchen set for Christmas. I decided to make them a bunch of crocheted play food to go with their kitchen! We have a hotdog, hamburger (with lettuce & tomato), taco (with lettuce, tomato & beef), a pot of spaghetti & meatballs, a carrot and a full breakfast spread (toast, eggs, bacon & pancakes). I sure hope they like them!! :) We'll be giving them to them at our big family Christmas gathering.

Happy Birthday Calla!

My friend, Jenn's daughter was having her first birthday, so I whipped up this cotton hat for her!:) Happy Birthday Calla!! :)

Teacher's present 1

I found this cute little button and thought I had to make something for Niko's teacher with it. This is part 1 of the teacher present. Part 2 will be when we paint apples on some towels to hang on this towel holder!

Back To Hookin'

All summer long (when I had free time) I worked on a long coat/sweater for a friend of mine. Unfortunately I never finished it and now don't have time to pick it up and work on it because I have to get everything ready for Christmas. Christmas? CHRISTMAS? Yeah ... it's not that far off and if I'm going to make all the presents (I am because we're poor) then I better get to hookin'!

Here are some things I recently made for a swap. Now I'm done with swaps and ready to work on Christmas!

Towel holders, scrubbies, R2D2 hat and a ladybug hat!

A cute little lunch for my rugrats!

We have a ton of tomatoes to use up. We also have a ton of tuna. I was trying to think of a way to make a cold stuffed tomato for the boys with the tuna that wouldn't totally bore them. This is what I came up with. They totally loved it and hogged it all down. They thought it was so neat to find a note on their plates!
